Botox is for the birds…literally

Botox is for the birds…especially for those nasty Crows”FEET”

I had the opportunity to try out Botox for the first time at Sublime Medical.  I was always hesitant to try it my only regret now is that I didn’t do this sooner. I am not going to lie to you. I wanted to do Botox injections for vanity issues. I hated the crows feet on the corner of my eyes. Those nasty crows are for many reasons. One for the squinting I do from migraines. I would get 10-15 migraines a month and one magical one would land me in the hospital. I have have been on many medications for nerve damage, migraines, injections in my neck, patches… you name it I tried it all, well all but BOTOX.

All the while squinting with my migraines increased the nasty crows as they gathered on the corner of my eyes. They came in swarms! LOL

Even with a gentle movement of my lips the crows would gather it was bad.  I didn’t like it and I felt I was older than I was. Those darn migraines made it so!!!!

I started researching online for Doctors that did Botox and their qualifications.

I made an appointment and I met with Dr. Dawood from Sublime Medical.

I was impressed with his resume. I also talked to the people in his office awaiting procedures and they told me how they have been going to Dr. Dawood for years. He has two offices, one in Mission Viejo and Riverside. When it was my time to meet with Dr. Dawood I was impressed. We started talking about my crows feet and other health issues. I was so relieved to find a doctor that wasn’t just concerned about the Botox but wanted to know about the other health issues unrelated to my issue of why I was there. Dr. Dawood took the time and discussed what I should bring up with my doctor. That was nice and refreshing.

Dr. Dawood also told me that he could help with my migraines. I told him that when I had them it was around my left eye and back of my neck. While I am still nervous about the back of my neck we agreed to do the crows feet and some injections in my forehead over my left eye.

There was only one issue.  One important issue. I am scared to death of needles.

Let me say that again….SCARED TO DEATH OF NEEDLES. Despite how many IV’s and injections I have had for my migraines it never gets easier.

When it was time to get the injection I was so upset I didn’t take any xnanx and I was shaking. I was nervous, this was an injection near my eye. I kept thinking it was going to hurt. I was told by his office staff that it is a tiny pinch and they had facials that hurt more. Having had facials I could appreciate this comment and that was a relief.

It was time and I was brave. Really I wasn’t, I closed my eyes I felt his hands on my face. I asked in my shaky voice,  “Tell me when you are going to start with the injections?” He told me he was done. What? That didn’t hurt. Then I was really brave, ” Can I please have some more in my left side for migraines” and Dr. Dawood walked over and did a quick injection of Botox.  I was so floored that it didn’t hurt I must have sounded like a crazy person because that is all I said when I was leaving.

I was Rainman in all my glory;

“It didn’t hurt”

“I thought it would hurt”

“Did you know it doesn’t hurt”

“Why did I wait so long for Botox, it didn’t hurt”

I was told it is because Dr. Dawood uses a 32 gauge needle which is smaller than the 30 gauge one.

Now I waited awhile with this blog post. I saw results within a week but I wanted to wait to see if I would be getting migraines and I haven’t had a bad one. I have had mild headaches and no pain on my left side of my eye. When I got a moderate headache that I swore would be a full blown migraine the pain was a dull mild throbbing on my neck and tender pain more like an annoying twitch on the center of my face. I was able to get by with Motrin. Which is never usually how these migraines end. These Botox treatments are no joke.

Here is a picture of me now without the nasty crows. I am so happy with getting Botox for both my migraines and crows feet. I am so sorry I waited so long. Sublime Medical is the greatest. I know there are many places you can choose for your cosmetic procedures I would highly recommend Sublime medical. I would put my name on the line….if you could see it… get it because Botox dulls the line? LOL Really I would recommend Sublime not only for their professionalism, cleanliness, fabulous customer service but for how the Doctor treats you. From taking time to discuss with you the procedure, having a gentle tone and sincerely loving what they do. Also helps that Dr. Dawood is a perfectionist, or at least I think so.
