Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

After much thought and excitement about how I wanted to go about writing this post I decided to give you an honest (might be long) review of my time at Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Just some short background. Some may know, some may not; I have had my cosmetology license for a little over 8 years now. When I was first married I worked at a full service salon in Washington state, where I specialized in cutting. Fast forward to moving to California 5 years ago, 2 of which I spent being a full time stay at home mom, the last 3 I spent working at a salon where we specialized in blowdries and styles.

Although I understand the importance of a great haircut, I found myself always (in the last 5 years) disappointed walking out of any salon or sadly just NOT getting my hair cut for great lengths of time. Sometimes I would tell them I was a stylist, other times I would not. To be sure I was treated like any of you that would walk into Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I chose to simply not mention my past experience.

Walking into Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in Fullerton you know you are going to sit down with a super rad stylist behind your chair. Looking around the vibe is really modern, nice and clean. As I waited for my appointment to start I saw 2 gorgeous colors walk out the door one edgy, and one more glamorous. This only brought excitement to me as I took a look around at the different professional products they carried.

Chris Ray was very nice when he came to greet me, He was a little behind schedule, but again being in the business I totally understand. You want to be sure your client is walking out 110% happy and excited about their hair (which the client he had before totally was!).

After a brief consultation where I felt good being left in his hands, he gave me a fantastic scalp massage using essential oils, and offered me a drink. During the shampoo he mentioned that he loves to treat each of his guests with a deep conditioning treatment where I sat with a hot towel wrapped around my head for about 5 minutes. But those were 5 minutes of heaven!

Back to the chair for the first snip! I, of course, get a little nervous as I have VERY thick, VERY curly hair and to top it off I have to keep my glasses off so Blind Betty here can’t even take a sneak peak of whats going on. In the consultation I had mentioned I’m a stay at home mom of 2, so I want a fun easy length to make it possible for a quick fix in the mornings. Granted, I do usually blow out my own hair pretty nicely and It will stay nice and smooth for a few days with light touch ups of an iron. I wanted that Lucy Hale beach bob or lob (long bob) just below the collar bone.

He blew out my hair so nicely, which just the right amount of tension my curls need to get smooth. I could not of been happier with the results. I slip on my glasses and feel so great about the length, the texture I got with the fun layers he added, and the bounce from the fantastic blow dry. Chris made sure it was everything I had wanted (which it was) then walked me to the front to check out!  I was so excited I forgot to take a picture of myself there in the salon mirror, but I snapped this pic in the rain on the way to my car and then after styling it a bit more like I would normally wear it I took this pic at home.
