Let it go, a guide to hosting a boys Frozen birthday party

Ever since the movie Frozen hit the big screen, it melted my sons heart. For some reason he just couldn’t let it go! When it was approaching time for his 4th birthday and we asked him what he wanted. I wasn’t surprised by his answer when he said Frozen. Now with that came a lot of support and with a lot of support you also get the critics. I had some acquaintances refuse to go to my sons’ party because it was too girly for a boy. I felt I needed to defend my son and I asked why it was ok for a girl to be a tomboy and no one would think twice or if said girl wanted a super hero party. However a little boy wanting a party that had princesses you would have thought the Snow Queen herself gave you the cold shoulder.
I was overwhelmed with the support from my friends and family not to mention the fans on my Facebook page, Hopscotch & Jellybeans who would email and send me links to party pages to help me plan for my son’s party.
I have to admit this was one of the best parties that I have ever put together. I couldn’t have done it without my family, friends, fans and most of all NYC Cafe Catering, Donna B’s Bakery , and Once upon a time character company
With that let the party begin!!!! I searched google like no other to find the cutest invites and this is what I found. I am a fusion of Forrest Gump and Rain man when it comes to scaling things down. So my friend Amber scaled this to size. Is that what you call it?
For the Venue I decided to have his party at the local YMCA. The kids would be able to go swimming with lifeguards on duty, after that they could play both inside in the wonderful air-conditioned rooms or outside and jump in the bounce houses, enjoy snow cones and the  popcorn machines, with just a few more surprises!
It had to be the hottest day of the year so I was so glad we opted to do the swim party and I have a feeling his friends did as well.

Next I was all over Pinterest like Olaf is for warm hugs!!! I thought this would be super cute, Olaf swimming! How hard could placing marshmallows on blue jello be?
Yep you guessed it I NAILED IT!
My Olaf looked like something from a Steven King inspired movie. I thought I was afraid of clowns, yeah nothing compares to this creature. I can’t look at a marshmallow the same again. I couldn’t run the hot water fast enough to make it go down the drain.
Here is the Menu…minus Olaf’s Jello. Surprisingly no asked and I didn’t tell.
This was the best pasta I have ever had in my life. EVER. HAD. IN. MY. LIFE. It was so good it was worth repeating. This is nothing like you have ever had before. The Alfredo with Penne was a crowd pleaser. The owner suggested this tray for the kids. Kids and Adults couldn’t get enough of it. Creamy, thick, and really it’s not your traditional alfredo sauce. It tastes like no other.
The kids went crazy for the meatballs and pasta as well. This was delicious and satisfying however my favorite was the alfredo. Don’t get me wrong I had two helpings of each like the rest of the royal guests,  they were both great in their own way.
I did two waters; One was just cucumbers and limes. The second water had oranges, lemons and limes.
The highlight of this party. Having Elsa, Kristoff, and Anna show up!
They are the real deal.
So professional and lets be honest here, their costumes are five star.
They really make an effort and it shows. They stayed in character the whole time. Even when they texted me to let me know they were outside, the end of the text said; “Love Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff”
I was anticipating that not all 33 children would be sitting or engaging that is why we got the bounce house. Yeah not the case. They had everyone engaged even the parents.
If you want the best, you need to hire the best, Once Upon A Time Character Company!
The Ice sisters even helped with singing happy birthday and handing out the cake. They made this day so magical. My son couldn’t believe his luck he truly thought he was in a dream.

You can’t have a Royal party without having a dessert fit for a King.
Donna B’s outdid herself again!!!

This is not the first time we have used Donna B’s if you recall she did my son’s 2nd birthday for his Yo Gabba Gabba cake.

The cake – Inside was chocolate cake with oreo and fudge filling. The outside was made with a whipped cream and the snowflakes were made with white chocolate and sprinkled with snow dust. The cake was delicious. It was moist, sweet and just right. If you have never had a Donna B cake or cookie, for that matter, you are missing out.

Do you want to make a “Snow Bag?”
My friend Theresa  made the candied apples as an added treat for the snow bags. Her caramel apples are in a category of their own!

Each Child got their own snow bag and they got to build it how they wanted. They could get one of each or just the items they wanted. They didn’t need to go down the list however they could only have one of each or until the item ran out.

The Prince and his royal subjects had a magical time, and they all lived happily ever after!
