Linguine and Clams ~ Thanks Mom!

I was that person sitting in my parked car eating like a pig frantically searching for truffles. I did manage to enjoy and consume the flavors as they danced happily on my tongue. I was in my car waiting for my sons baseball game to start yesterday. My mother had me drop off the minion (aka my 4yo at her house) and as a peace offering for this exchange I was given a care package of food for the boys and I. I wish more exchanges worked out like this.
I don’t like eating food that has a strong aroma around others at an event, especially when they are not eating. Its kind of like that person making popcorn in the office or eating a can of tuna in the break room. I get you have to eat yet, I like to be considerate of those around me.
That and I don’t like to share!!! I’m sure once they knew my mother cooked they would all be placing orders.
As I sit in my car with my gut over my jeans, spanx gonna fail me now! I keep enjoying – savoring the flavors. Tasting the garlic the parsley, how it pairs beautifully with the linguine. Twirling my fork around the clams and doing the same with the linguine and making sure to not waste one bite. It was delicious all my senses were happily satisfied – yes all of them!
I was actually smiling and laughing thinking that bathing suit season is upon us, and I am not in emergency mode for summer. The burden of relief to know, yes I’m eating delicious foods but I will make my goal of losing 26lbs by the middle of June.

It’s in my blood to eat and not just eat but to enjoy food – I’m 50% Italian I can’t help it. My Grandmother was the original foodie queen and I blame her for all her exquisite tastes she bestowed upon me. My mother inherited her skill for cooking, I inherited, along with my boys the ravenous appetites for consuming such decadent foods.
