I think I may have found a little slice of heaven in Huntington Beach! Stacked recently opened up on Edinger, right off the 405. Driving up to the venue you can’t miss the giant sign with fun modern lettering drawing you into what is an incredible ambiance. It’s definitely not your traditional breakfast joint, this place has hashtag trendy written all over it! I say breakfast because that’s what we chose to go in and get, but they have lunch and dinner menus that I can’t wait to go back and try. And did I forget to mention cocktails and happy hour specials served from their awesome bar, which I would have joined had I not taken my two girls.

Lets get to the experience.

First off, the waitress was so sweet and helpful when it came to teaching me how to order (I will get to that in a moment) and made a fantastic suggestion on starting off our meal with their delicious Blueberry Fritters. These ooey gooey balls of awesome can only taste better dipped in the blueberry yogurt sauce they came with! These things were breakfast-life changing! So if you are going to stop in, give these starters a try!

Then, as I was enjoying the divine Blueberry Fritters I started going through their breakfast menu. YOU GUYS, this is so cool how you order here. The waitress had told me I could either order the old fashioned way (through her) or on the tablet sitting at the table. Of course, to get the full experience we chose to order using the tablet. The girls were obsessed with this part. You literally get to choose the food from the right hand side bar and drag it onto the plate. When you’ve put all you want on that particular plate you hit “Add to Order”. I’ve never seen anything like this. Then, once everyone at the table has their plate on the order screen you send the entire order to the kitchen! So easy and the kids loved ordering their own food!

Lastly the food! Their motto is FOOD WELL BUILT and that it is. Whether you personalize it or order it as the chef designed, it is Food Well Built. They are ingredient based, which is why the menu doesn’t have prices on them. As you add or take away ingredients the price adjusts! The girls of course got chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bananas. I knew I was going to have to finish their plates of chocolate and maple syrup heaven, so I decided to try out a scramble. I chose the Southwestern Scramble. Eggs stuffed with blackened chicken, black beans, jack cheese, avocado (of course), and pico de gallo. It was mouthwatering watching it being set down onto the table and I couldn’t wait to dive in! Everything we ordered was delicious.

All in all, Stacked was a great choice for a before ballet breakfast stop. The way you get to personalize your meal makes it a sure fire way it will come the way you order it. This is HUGE in my book, considering my entourage I made up of picky eaters. We will for sure be back so I can enjoy the Spicy Chicken Flatbread I was eyeballing!
