TURBO FIRE Fridays Week 1

 

As most of you know I decided to take my health back. I had a cancer scare a few weeks ago, when I went to the ER for severe pain on my right, they were leaning towards the culprit being my appendix. When they did the CAT scan to rule it out, it wasn’t my appendix it was a lesion on my liver. Now after a total of 3 CAT scans, blood work and an MRI I am cleared, it was a benign tumor . I will still need to get MRI’s for the next couple of years, every six months just to watch it in addition to blood work as often as its order. I was advised by both my primary doctor and my specialist that I need to lose 40lbs. My primary doctor very concerned was able to get me approved right away for a LAP  band to lose the weight fast. However my specialist said I should be able to lose the 40lbs on my own. Both are easy 1) being effortlessly to lose the weight with the lap band. 2) Saying you can lose the weight is easier said than done.

When I got the news I decided not only am I going to lose weight I am going to stop all the medication that I have been taking for the last five years. I have nerve damage and suffer PHN and have horrible migraines. I was on several medications a day, I am sure it didn’t help my liver. The medications made it hard to lose weight as did my love for cupcakes coupled with a sedentary lifestyle. While Cancer doesn’t discriminate there are things I can do to improve my health and that is when I decided that I needed to CLEAN house from the inside out. You can read more about that HERE.

I will be as proactive with my health as I can, ultimately GOD is in control and I am content with that.

On my journey I was blessed to meet Kaylee Sorey via Sorey Fitness. A mother daughter team committed to helping you lay the foundation for a healthier YOU! With that I was able to review TURBO FIRE and I am on a 20 week journey and I will be sharing my journey with you.

Week one: I did the Turbo Fire starter pack three times this week. Look we all need to start somewhere. Even though this is the intro it still burned and I needed to take it easy as I ease back in to working out. I haven’t worked out this hard for over 7 years. I love Chalene Johnson’s enthusiasm in the TURBO FIRE DVD’s her energy makes me want to work out that much harder and finish the “class”. I feel like she really did save me the best spot in the class for me. A saying you too will be familiar with if you get the TURBO FIRE DVD’s. This is true and you really feel like you are working out with your friends.

I will admit while doing the workout, I felt things on me jiggle and clap and um they weren’t my hands, that was motivation enough to keep going. “With TURBO FIRE you want to TURN UP THE BURN!”

In my kit of goodies that I was given from Sorey Fitness:

 I got a welcome turbofire booklet that explained the DVD’s, had some workout schedules , what to expect type things, the importance of a journaling what you eat;  this is the one thing that I will struggle with and I need to do this as this is optimal for my success, writing down what I eat. Those “This bite won’t hurt” mentality will be the demise of me. So I am going to be better at that. I am going to commit to being more diligent with this next week.

In addition to all these amazing things, I am also part of their accountability group to help keep me motivated and right on track.

This first week I just got my feet wet with getting to know the materials and doing the starter set. Tomorrow I am ready to jump in and take the plunge. I took my measurements and I look forward to watching my measurements go down. My weight goal is to lose 15lbs by January 10th which is when I see my doctor next.

WHOO HOO, the saying is true: NO PAIN NO GAIN! My body is going to be on FIRE!
