Moo Church – Spreading the Love to the community

Recently I had the opportunity to see the new kids building at MOO Church. So much love and money was poured into this building in an effort to reach more of the community in the surrounding areas. I had the privilege to walk around the three-story building and take a look inside. Kid City is sure to be rock’n every Sunday and Wednesday. I loved the detail with all the artwork as it looked so very inviting. Now while a building is just a building, that is not what makes it so wonderful. All the love that went into such a building to glorify God’s love in the community. Now while I don’t attend this church many of my friends do. I actually found out about this church when I was doing an ROP class for a caregiving, when I was 18 years old. On site at the church they have an Adult Day Care program. Fascinating that is was originally run by the YMCA and they were going to close it down and MOO Church said to keep it and they would run it. They have run this now for many years. Not only do they have the Kids Ministry, they also have a Preschool on site as well. In addition to JR and their High School groups.

MOO Church is always hosting events throughout the year and most of them that they offer are for free or  for a very low fee. Every Wednesday the kids ministry will be in session from 4:45 – 8pm. Depending on which group you are in.  “JOYBELLS” “KID CITY PRAISE” or “KIDS CLUB”. This is a free event.

Some events that will be taking place this weekend are;

December 18th -19th ; 6:00pm – 10:00pm – FREE

Drive Thru- Nativity – Free to walk-thru or drive-thru. Plus free ice skating for children in the courtyard with light refreshments.

December 19th; 9:00am – 1:00pm – $10 PER Family (Yes I said PER, I know such a deal right?)

Christmas in Kid City– A fun drop off event for children preschool to 5th grade. Children will get to explore the Nativity Story and enjoy ice skating in the courtyard. This includes Lunch. So please tell me where in Orange County can you drop off your kids for 4 hours, they eat lunch and go ice skating for $10 PER family not per kid? WOW I couldn’t believe this when they told me. I asked the Pastor why they were not charging more for these events. The Pastor told me it wasn’t about the money, it was about sharing the gospel and the Love of God. I kind of felt bad for asking with his response. I did get the chance to speak with the Pastor for a few minutes. I first met him when MOO Church was offering their Free Fall Carnival in October for the community. My 5 yo was a SWAT TEAM member and was doing an arrest. It so happened it was the Pastor and that is how we started off the evening.

Michelle Danly is the Children’s Ministry Director and she is a  huge advocate for Christ and the ARTS. She “married” them in the ministry for kids. Michelle’s vision is to bring after school creative arts programs to the kids of the community while helping them tap into their GOD GIVEN gifts and talents. Her background is different as a Children’s Pastor. She worked in Hollywood for several years while teaching art at Pasadena Art College to teaching arts in the public schools to starting the outreach Service program at local schools. Her goal is to really make an impact on kids and encourage them to have an authentic relationship with GOD. She also loves developing leaders and teams to help deliver creative programming for the community.

When I asked Michelle in one statement that describes what she does and what her passion is; “ON FIRE for the LORD and teaching kids”

I love when Churches give back to their community in such a genuine way. If you don’t have a home church or are looking for fun events within the community I would highly suggest MOO Church. Very casual atmosphere. From the Pastors to the Kids ministry this is such a genuine church. Its not just the building at the church its the people that make it the way it is and strive to reach the community in such a positive way. Meeting with the Pastor it felt very casual like I was talking to a friend for years. I felt so comfortable I started asking him questions regarding my walk and I was pleased with his answers backed by scripture.
