Oh, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Oh, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Even though the sound of it
Is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough
You’ll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
“Mary Poppins” is one of my favorite childhood movies.  I dare to you to sing a song from Mary Poppins without smiling and recalling many happy childhood memories. “Chim Chiminey Chim Chiminey Chim Chim Cher-ee! A sweep is a lucky As lucky can be” Now I am happy as can be because in December of 2013 the movie, ” Saving Mr. Banks” we will all have the opportunity to see the behind the scenes of the iconic entrepreneur Walt Disney. When Walt Disney’s daughters asked their father to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers’ “Marry Poppins” he made a promise.  One he didn’t expect to take 20 years to keep. From his journey to get the rights and dealing with the writer with the notion that there is absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get exploited by the “Hollywood machine”. As luck would have it , as the books stop selling and the funds shrivel, Travers begrudgingly agrees to go to LA to hear Disney’s plant for the adaptation.

This movie is inspired by true events, “Saving Mr. Banks” is the untold story of how Disney’s classic “Mary Poppins” made it to the big screen – with the testy relationship that famed Walt Disney had with author P.L. Travers that almost derailed it. It is only when he digs deep into his own childhood that Walt uncovers the facts about the ghosts that torment her. Together they set Mary Poppins free to finally make one of the most endearing films in cinematic history.
