Our Visit to the Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza

My boyznberries and I had the opportunity to visit the Irvine Park Railroad for their annual Easter Eggstravaganza. We were invited to check it out by the Easter Bunny himself. I was really surprised when I got there. As you know I did share about what was going on at the Irvine Park Railroad however this past saturday was the first time the boyznberries and I went to their eggstravaganza.

Once we got into the park (you need to pay to get into the park I believe its $3 during the weekday and $5 on the weekend, check the website to make sure however I believe I am right) my boysenberries hopped on over to ensure that they make it to one of the easter egg hunts.

I want to let you know that I always dread, I REALLY dread Easter egg hunts with other people. WHY…well its not the kids that are the problem its the parents. Yes I am going to shame the parents, they are the ones who don’t follow the unspoken rules, some kid always gets hurt and you see parents snagging all the eggs for their child. Besides that its enough in a crowded place when my child is running around but adults stampeding and pushing while they hunt for the eggs is a bit much. Its for the kids and sometimes parents don’t get that. So I avoid events like these. So when my boys ran up to give their tickets I was very uneasy.

As we waited I wiped the sweat rolling from my face. I made sure my brother and older son would help me with the two younger ones. I honestly expected the worst, and then it happened. Before we could go on the egg hunt we needed to show our wrist band and we needed to sit down to listen to the rules.

We had an EGGcellent MC!

He went over the rules, oh I was so relieved that they had rules. Parents were not allowed to pick up the eggs, only 8 eggs per child because we need to make sure there was enough for everyone however candy was a free for all! This was the first event I have been to that the easter egg hunt was so peaceful. Parents were so well behaved, no shoving or fighting and NO child was crying because they didn’t get eggs or candy. I LOVE THAT YOU HAD RULES!  I should also mention the age group was 2-12 years old. It was the BEST easter egg hunt I have been to, I know I said that however I need to really emphasize this. I didn’t lose my child in the crowd no one was running and everyone got eggs and candy. It was EGGTASTIC!

After the hunt we took some pictures with the Easter Bunny

and decided to walk around the park. In doing so we stopped by to say hello to this duck and her babies.

We also rented a bike and enjoyed what this beautiful park had to offer. My brother and my boys kept saying how wonderful this was.

After the bike ride

We jumped in the bounce house,

Got our faces painted by the most sweetest and talented lady, Ms. Jellybean. Her name is just as sweet as she was.

Enjoyed a balloon animal or two,

and rode the train.

I will highly suggest that you visit as you have until Saturday, April 19th, to be apart of the festivities. When you do go I will also recommend making a day out of it and if you can bring a picnic and just enjoy being in the moment. Irvine Park is so beautiful and I truly forgot how spectacular it is. Sadly the last time I was there was 7 years ago for a company picnic, I will not make this mistake again. I forgot how beautiful this park is and how many wonderful things you can do.  I also liked how my boys were unable to connect to instagram while here. They actually had to enjoy the time we had together. That was the golden egg right there!
