Toddler Tuesday – The SideDoor @ The Five Crowns

 “Man I needed this, what a week! I need an apple juice on the rocks stat!”

Parents consider yourself crowned, this is anything but mayhem.  Frederick was serving it up with his mom and dad two weeks ago. Here Frederick is a little concerned about the free stroller valet and if his stroller is safe. Mom is assuring her little prince that it is safe and no one will bump into it. Yes I said “FREE” stroller valet. How else do you think you get down at Toddler Tuesday? Its all about arriving in style. 

 

These kids, mine included enjoyed the Side Door for Toddler Tuesday it doesn’t get much cuter than this!!!!

 

Well for me it did! Come here lover…. I tried out Toddler Tuesday COCKTAILS. I opted for the one perfectly named for what I could use. “Mommy’s Lil Helper” cognac, cherry & fennel syrup, maraschino, lemon, allspice, sparkling wine served on the rocks!

 

WOOHA MOMMA. It was a refreshing drink and was so tasty…it should be renamed to accurately describe the events  here on out to, ” Daddy’s the designated driver.”  I didn’t realize how strong the after kick would be. Thank goodness I sip slow and after halfway – I stopped and had two bottles of Pellegrino water. Next time I will have the “Bartender’s Mocktail” or just a glass of wine.  Then again I might just be a lightweight. YEAH right!!!

 This drink was so extraordinary and refreshing it deserves to be posted twice. You’re welcome!!!!

While the children frolicked and played at the Five Crowns….(Yes I said while the kids frolicked and played at the FIVE CROWNS, Side Door while they enjoyed the whole patio), without any nasty looks or stress from fellow diners. Parents had what was considered a warm, decadent, meal enjoyed in perfect harmony. Kids laughing, parents smiling and food is being eaten and ENJOYED. NO engulfing or half chewing, parents actually enjoying the flavors, ambiance and the music of children’s laughter.

 

Its not its not the twilight zone…its Corona Del Mar and the Five Crowns / Side Door.  They nailed it with Toddler Tuesday. Such a relaxing vibe, delicious food, fantastic service and kids begging to come back. First restaurant your toddler will leave kicking and screaming because they WANT to stay!  Do you blame them?

 

 

Prior to our meal my boyznberries feasted on the SideDoor Avocado Mash with pita chips. I would like to add that they offer a $5 kid approved menu.

I started the meal off with the Beet & Strawberry Salad; arugula, sunflower seeds, gorgonzola, and balsamic vinaigrette. OH my word this was delicious. The yellow beets with the strawberries totally complimented the gorgonzola and happily danced on my tongue. Was this really happening? I was actually enjoying food while my children FROLICKED in the patio. NO dirty looks, just parents enjoying meals with toddlers…. I still can’t get over that.

For my dinner I had the Prime Rib Sandwich with au jus, horseradish and fries.

 

 

When you are done feasting….let them eat cake!

Or let this mommy eat some cheesecake and enjoy a cappuccino, fit for a Queen!

 

 

 

 

 

 

My sweet boys were being so BERRY BERRY good so they got to have dessert too….. CC Brown’s Fudge Sundae and fresh berries.

Look at this face – the face of pure relaxation, I am talking about myself. YES I know this picture is “SIDE” ways. It captures the moment of how purely unique this experience was. I will be going back again and again…..It was a stress free dining experience. It was truly FIVE Star at the FIVE CROWNS!
From the valet stroller parking,  $5  toddler menu , happy diners and HAPPY Toddlers you don’t have to tell me again. I couldn’t believe this dining experience my kids were so well behaved. When I say behaved I mean they were encouraged to be kids….at a restaurant isn’t that a new concept?

Ok parents, Toddler Tuesday starts at 4:30pm. Stroll on up to the free Stroller Valet, grab a drink or a mocktail or two! Get ready to knock your socks off and just have a fabulous time. I promise you this is not a dream…..this is real!
