It’s whats best for the breast, 30 seconds 1x a month

I’m lucky if I have enough time to shave my legs in the shower but the other day I found the time to do something incredibly important, to check for lumps. I don’t normally do this but as I was washing I found myself checking for lumps as my hands instinctively knew how to check. We all have been educated, we have seen illustrations, read about it, speakers speak about it, doctors tell us about it. Its so simple for us to do yet its not as instinctual like shaving our legs to check for lumps in our breast. It takes less than a minute and we should be doing this once a month, yet we never have the time? We need to make the time…..says the woman who sporadically checked.  I felt a lump on my right breast on Sunday morning. When I went to the doctors I let them know and when he did the exam he told me I had two lumps, one in each breast. I will be getting an ultrasound this Thursday. I am confident that its most likely a cyst or that is what I am telling myself.
I have been non stop researching since Monday. I started freaking myself out linking my liver lesion to what this could be. I am not a doctor however according to webmd I might have some of the qualifications! LOL
Have you done your monthly self check? Here are some sites that you might want to check out regarding Breast Self- Exams and information about lumps in your breast These are the ones that I found helpful and wanted to pass along.

I am trusting God and praying for his wisdom and guidance. My friends have been sending me scripture to meditate upon. My two favorites ~ Isaiah 26:3 and Matthew 6:34.  I am almost confident that this is nothing and I will be so relieved when this whole ordeal is over.
This was a huge wake up call for me, its so important to do this exam once a month. I know sometimes we are scared so we don’t want to check.  Just because you feel a lump it doesn’t mean you have breast cancer, in-fact the % is high that its not. Early detection is key! Its been a year since I did an exam, and when I say I did an exam I mean my GYN did it. If you go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, you can sign up to get reminders to do a self check every month. That takes less than 60 seconds to sign up AND it could save your life. I never had the time, I’m kind of wishing I took the 30 seconds every month for the last year.
NO regrets, going forward I now know what I NEED to do. So do YOU, so what are you waiting for? Sign up today for your monthly reminders. CLICK ON THIS to set up your Early Detection Plan reminders.
