San Diego SeaWorld’s sneak peek at the Ocean Explorer

Recently, I got the opportunity to go to San Diego SeaWorld’s Media Day to check out some of their new rides and exhibits. This was my first time to SeaWorld, and everything was such an experience. To start off our trip we got the chance to get personal with some amazing wildlife. During the meet and greet we were able to meet an adorable sloth, two penguins, and the cutest beaver anyone has ever seen. All the while we got sea themed donuts, coffee, juice, and delicious hot chocolate.

After the meet and greet we got a sneak peak at the Ocean Explorer area, designed for young children to not only have an educational experience but a lot of family fun as well. This area has five new rides, interactive games and exploring, a food court, and a gift shop. One could go from the jellyfish swings to hanging out with the eels in a matter of moments. Once our time at the Ocean Explorer area had ended we got to head over to the Orca Encounter which was definitely the highlight of this trip!

As I walked into the stadium the first thing I noticed was a giant screen, about half the size of a football field, showing beautiful ocean landscapes. Getting ready to take my seat I noticed we were seated in the soak zone, from my experience if anyone is sitting in this area be prepared to get just as is said, soaked! Once the documentary style show started we were able to find out amazing information about these majestic animals along with being introduced to four of the orcas. My overall thoughts about my time at SeaWorld is I had a ton of fun and got to learn so much, not just at the Orca Encounter but throughout the entire park! On a side note if you are in the park make sure to visit the sea lions and buy some fish to feed them, just watch out for the birds they will steal your fish, they are so entertaining to watch and feed!
